Am 7. März 2010 ist es wieder soweit und in Los Angeles werden die heiß begehrten Oscars vergeben. Mit 9 Nominierungen geht diesmal Cameron's 3D-CGI-Werk "Avatar" in den Ring. Moderiert wird die Show von Steve Martin und Alec Baldwin. Deutschland ist diesmal 2 mal vertreten. Christoph Waltz ist für seine Rolle in “Inglourious Basterds” als Bester Nebendarsteller nominiert und "Das weiße Band" ist als Bester fremdsprachiger Film nominiert.
